Our company was founded in 1976 in Sicily, in Salaparuta in the province of Trapani, Sicily and initially consisting of a few hectares of vineyard cultivated in Catarratto, only between 1996 and 1997 were planted two other varieties: Nero d'Avola and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Today it has reached an area of 5 hectares and continues to maintain the same varieties , from which only pure wines are produced; the same philosophy , a small and family-run company and last but not least, the same goal , produce quality wines through organic cultivation, selection of the best grapes directly in the field, low yield and new winemaking techniques, all respecting the tradition and the environment.
Bruchicello was born with the 1999 vintage, making its debut on the market in December 2001, with a limited production of about 2000 bottles of Nero d'Avola IGT. The first Nero d'Avola and Catarratto vintage followed in 2006, both included in the Salaparuta DOC denomination, finally, only in 2014, the Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva Salaparuta DOC was produced.
The name Bruchicello on the labels, used as a registered trademark for our wines, come from the name of the district, Vruchicelle, today Salavecchia, where the vines were planted. The district rises on the sunny hills of the Belice valley, home to ancient civilizations, from the Sicilians to the Elymians, Greeks and Arabs.
