Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine of the Piper nigrum family, also known as
kurokawa, native to the Malabar Coast of India.It was one of the first spices to be used and probably the most widely used today.
The same fruit is made from white pepper, red pepper and green pepper.Black pepper is native to south India and is widely grown locally and in other tropical regions.The fruit of black pepper, when ripe, is dark red and contains a seed.When dried, the fruit becomes a 5 mm diameter stone stone.
