Gianfranco Barban had the vision of creating a new type of artisans' workshop. In 1999, he opened B.Lab Italia, a multicultural workshop where experimentation is the modus operandi for breaking new ground in the world of design. The workshop's capabilities are enhanced due to the technological and industrial expertise available in the region and the natural surroundings' transformative powers. This creative climate inspires independent thinking and a stream of ideas for new ways to use materials and objects.

This is how B.Lab has grown over time. The lab has collaborated with a wide variety of professionals and, since its earliest days, dared to take on seemingly impossible projects that have the potential to revolutionize a product.
