Hexamidine Diisethionate

Hexamidine diisethionate CAS 659-40-5 is a salt of the amidine base “Hexamidine” and two equivalents of the sulphonic acid “Isethionic Acid”. It has a long track record of use as anti-microbial agent since the 1950s, especially for products where mildness and safety.

Hexamidine diisethionate CAS 659-40-5 is a hydrosoluble antimicrobial cationic substance with a wide spectrum of activity against bacteria, fungi and yeasts. Hexamidine may be used as a polyvalent preservative, as well as a cutaneous aseptizer, more and more used by the cosmetic industry.

Function:

1.Inhibiting microorganisms (preservatives). A separate study is recommended for each cosmetic formula. 2. Skin and hair sterilization agent, care oily and acne prone to skin. It has antimicrobial activity on acne specific strains such as Lactobacillus, and it can inhibit the activity of the lipase of the acne propionate. It has indirect anti-stimulation effect (slow hydrolysis of sebaceous gland triglyceride) ; anti-dandruff effect (the effect of egg-like ringworm fungus); and can be used in deodorant products.
