Guide rail: A groove or ridge made of metal or other materials that can bear, fix, guide moving devices or equipment and reduce friction. The longitudinal grooves or ridges on the surface of the guide rail are used to guide and fix machine parts, special equipment, instruments, etc. Guide rails, also known as slide rails, linear guide rails, linear slide rails, are used in linear reciprocating motion applications. They have a higher rated load than linear bearings, and can bear a certain torque at the same time to achieve high-precision linear motion under high load
The guiding device in the mechatronics system generally refers to the guide rail, which is composed of moving parts and supporting parts. When all kinds of machinery are running, the guide rail pair guarantees the correct trajectory of the actuator. And the guide rail pair also affects the motion characteristics of the actuator.
As a guide device, the guide rail should have the following properties:
(1) Guiding accuracy Mainly refers to the accuracy of the track movement. The main factors affecting the guiding accuracy are: the geometric accuracy and contact accuracy of the guide rail, the structural form of the guide rail, the rigidity and thermal deformation of the guide rail and its supporting parts, the thickness of the oil film between the static (dynamic) pressure guide rail pair and its rigidity, etc.
(2) Accuracy retention is mainly determined by the wear resistance of the guide rail. The wear resistance is related to the material of the guide rail, the friction properties of the guide rail pair, the pressure on the guide rail and its distribution law and other factors.
(3) Rigidity includes the rigidity of the guide rail itself and the contact rigidity. Mainly depends on factors such as the shape and size of the guide rail and the connection method of the support and the force condition.
(4) Stability of low-speed movement When the moving rail moves at a low speed or a slight displacement, it is easy to produce frictional self-excited vibration, that is, crawling phenomenon. Crawling will reduce the positioning accuracy or increase the surface roughness of the processed workpiece. [1]
The guide rail is usually made by mechanical processing or cold drawing processing, and its supporting strength should generally be 370-520MPa. According to its transverse cross-sectional shape, it is mainly divided into: T-shaped guide rail, L (or triangle)-shaped guide rail, U-shaped guide rail, O-shaped guide rail, hollow guide rail and so on.
The slider is a mold component that can slide perpendicular to the mold opening and closing direction or at a certain angle with the mold opening and closing direction during the mold opening action of the mold. When the product structure makes the mold can not be demolded normally without using the slider, the slider must be used. The material itself has the appropriate hardness and wear resistance, enough to withstand the friction of movement. The hardness of the cavity part or core part on the slider should be the same level as the other parts of the mold core.
It is mainly composed of a slider and a guide rail. The slider is mainly used for sliding friction guide rail. Linear guides are also called linear guides, slides, linear guides, and linear slides. Linear guides are mainly used in mechanical structures that require relatively high precision.
