1st—Promoting skin regeneration
High expression of the membrane protein, ioricrin, and keratin 1 resulted in enhanced keratinocyte differentiation.
Cells were treated with 5μM phytosphingosine treatment of keratinocytes,after 7 days, the cornified envelope increased 1.9-fold.
Phytosphingosine increased the expression of keratin 1, membrane ioricrin, and panobin by 520%, 40%, and 280%, respectively (compared with control).


2nd—Soothing effect of phytosphingosine on UV induced actinic skin erythema.
Phytosphingosine maximizes microcirculation and vascular temperature, thereby reducing skin damage due to UV light.
3rd—Phytosphingosine has broad and very good antimicrobial effects.
Phytosphingosine showed good antimicrobial activity against Malassezia furfur, which illustrates that phytosphingosine is suitable for use in desquamation products.
