What is azelaic acid?

Azelaic acid powder is an organic compound with the formula (CH2)7(CO2H). This saturated dicarboxylic acid exists as a white powder. It is found in wheat, rye, and barley. It is a component of a number of hair and skin conditioners

Function of azelaic acid

1.The product used in combination with other anti-TB drugs initial treatment and retreatment of various tuberculosis, including tuberculous meningitis treatment.
2.The product used in combination with other drugs leprosy, non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections.
3.The goods and vancomycin (intravenous) can be combined for methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus caused serious infections. Rifampicin and joint programs can be used to Legionella serious infections.
4. For asymptomatic carriers of Neisseria meningitidis to eliminate Neisseria meningitidis nasopharynx; but not for Neisseria meningitidis infection.

Application of azelaic acid

1.Used as a good skin permeability. Cream cosmetics adding azelaic acid can increase absorption through the skin functions, and a brightening of the effectiveness of Lipstick.
2.Azelaic acid can inhibit microbial protein synthesis, , can be used as anti-acne drug.
