Iron Bisglycinate provides an optimal way to supplement iron, which is essential for red blood cell formation. It helps fight fatigue and other symptoms of iron deficiency in athletes and others. Iron bisglycinate is an iron amino acid chelate. It is formed by reaction of ferrous iron with two molecules of the amino acid glycine by a covalent bound in a process called chelation.  It is also claimed that Iron bisglycinate improves iron absorption, storage and increase hemoglobin level better than the conventionally used iron salts. 

Iron Bisglycinate is an iron supplement used to treat or prevent low blood levels of iron (such as those caused by anemia or pregnancy). Iron is an important mineral that the body needs to produce red blood cells and keep you in good health.

Ferrous bisglycinate is a chelate that is used as a source of dietary iron. Forming a ring structure when reacting with glycine, ferrous bisglycinate acts as both a chelate and a nutritionally functional. It is found in foods for food enrichment or in supplements for the treatment of iron deficiency or iron deficiency anemia.

Ferrous bisglycinate adds to the intestinal intraluminal pool of inorganic, non-haem iron and is absorbed intact into the mucosal cells of the intestine, and is subsequently hydrolysed into its iron and glycine components. The absorption of iron from ferrous bisglycinate is regulated through the same physiological mechanisms as any other inorganic forms of iron. The Ferrous bis-glycinate molecule is ionically neutral — it carries no electrical charge, which makes it highly stable and non-reactive in the presence of other nutrients. These specific features enable Ferrous Bisglycinate as one of the superior bioavailable iron supplement.
