Application anhydrous food grade sodium sulfite--
* Pulp and paper industry: Lignin removal agent
* Photographic industry: To protect developer solutions from oxidation and (as hypo clear solution) to wash fixer (sodium thiosulfate ) from film and photo-paper emulsions.
* Water treatment: Oxygen scavenger agent.
* Textile industry: Bleaching, desulfurizing and dechlorinating agent
* Chemical manufacturing: Sulfonation and sulfomethylation agent. It is used in the production of sodium thiosulfate.
* Leather trade: The sulfitization of tanning extracts
