N-Acetylneuraminic acid, Sialic acid (SA), also known as bird's nest acid, or "n-acetylneuraminine," is a naturally occurring carbohydrate that can be synthesized in itself or from foods.Pure sialic acid is colorless, soluble in water and does not rotate in aqueous solution.The pure monoethylphthalneurine and light monoethylphthalneurine are very stable in aqueous solution and do not change when stored at 4℃ for several months.

 

 

Function

1.N-Acetylneuraminic acid, Sialic acid has a wide range of biological functions, such as the regulation of blood protein half-life.

2.Neutralization of various toxins, cell adhesion, immune antigen-antibody response and protection against cell lysis.

3.Biochemical derivatives of sialic acid are also commonly used in drug synthesis.
