Sodium bicarbonate, molecular formula NaHCO₃, is an inorganic compound, white crystalline powder, odorless, alkaline in taste, easily soluble in water. It decomposes slowly in moist air or hot air, producing carbon dioxide, and decomposes completely when heated to 270℃. When it meets acid, it decomposes strongly and produces carbon dioxide.
