Scope of application


Trimethylolpropane is an important fine chemical product, which is a chain extender commonly used in resin industry. It has a low melting point and three hydroxymethyl groups in its molecular structure. It can react with organic acids to produce single or multiple esters, with aldehydes and ketones to produce acetals and ketals, and with diisocyanates to produce carbamates.
The products are mainly used in alkyd resin, polyurethane, unsaturated resin, polyester resin, paint and other fields, as well as synthetic aviation lubricating oil, plasticizer, surfactant, wetting agent, explosive, printing ink, etc., and also can be used as textile auxiliaries and thermal stabilizer of PVC resin. It can also be used as a buffer.
