Low density polyethylene, also known as high pressure polyethylene (LDPE) is a creamy white, tasteless, odorless, waxy particle with a lusterless surface, with a density range of 0.910-0.925g/cm3, which is the lightest variety of polyethylene resin except for ultra-low density polyethylene and is one of the softer varieties in general purpose plastics. Compared with HDPE and MDPE, it has lower crystallinity and softening point and a wider range of melt flow rate.
