في ألواح البلوك بورد (او المشار لها بالاتيه أيضا)، يتم صنع الطبقة الوسطى أو اللب من أشرطة من الخشب اللين أو أنواع أخرى من الخشب خفيف الوزن معظم الأحيان. يتم لصق حواف الأشرطه مع بعضها البعض و تلبيسها بين رقائق من الخشب اللين أو الخشب الصلب أو الخشب المضغوط أو ثم يتم تثبيتها معا بالغراء و تحت حرارة و ضغط عاليين
خصائص العمل
لدى أخشاب البلوك بورد موضع تقدير من قبل النجارين لسهولة العمل بها عند استخدام أدوات النجارة القليدية كما يتم تشطيبها و طلائها بشكل جيد لأنها تأتي في مجموعة واسعة النطاق من أسطح الوجه. البلوك بورد أيضا معتدل في عزل الصوت
بينما يكون خشب البلوك بورد أخف وزناً وأقل متانة من الخشب المعاكس ، إلا أنه تتمتع بقوة معتدلة وخصائص تحمل خاصة عند مقارنتها بألواح الخشب المضغوط
