We are innovative! That is what allows you to enjoy wines with a unique personality, able to reveal a world of sensations beyond conventionalism.
What do we do to achieve this? We have recovered more than 32 clay jars from old abandoned wineries and pioneered the study and development of making wine in these containers, sometimes partially and sometimes completely. We have also gone one step further in traditional aging with the production of El Retablo, aged using the criadera & solera method; the only red wine to be aged this way in the world.
Innovation has been part of our essence from the day that our founder, Javier Cremades de Adaro, launched the project in 1989, in an area that he considered ideal for growing grapes, at the heart of the Ribera del Duero, Spain. The winery is located in the town of Gumiel de Mercado, considered the highest quality grape-growing area in Ribera del Duero.
We have more than 140 differentiated plots that add up to 1400 acres (586 ha) of estate-owned vineyards. All the plots are located within the estate, Real Sitio de Ventosilla, an iconic setting with a rich history, crossed by the Duero River along four miles. The river and the estate's exclusive location give our terroir exceptional characteristics.
We are a family winery that is committed to sustainability and long-term growth, and we always make our wines employing natural methods.
We are creative and we feel free to always do things differently from the norm, being faithful to our values and feeling true passion for our land.
