Nylon insert lock nuts (also known as nylocks) are fitted with a polymer insert. The elastic Nylon insert of this component fits tightly against the fastener and is designed to resist loosening. The plastic nylon is placed at the end of the nut. When tightened, the nylon portion locks into the threads of the screws, but does not get cut, allowing the nylon nut to be reused. Nylon Nuts are Manufactured from Carbon Steel to DIN 982 / ISO 10512. these offer good corrosion resistance and are almost non magnetic.
