What is HID?

HID lamps produce light by striking an electrical arc across tungsten electrodes housed inside a specially designed inner glass tube. This tube is filled with both gas and metals. The gas aids in the starting of the lamps. Then, the metals produce the light once they are heated to a point of evaporation. Like fluorescent lamps, HID lamps require a ballast to start and maintain their operation. A HID lamp is 3 times brighter than a normal lamp of the same power, while it produces less power cunsumption. HID lighting had been widely used as the head lamp of motor vehicle.

This type of hand held torch is used by military, law enforcement, border patrol, fire departments, marine/coast guard etc. Now it is also suitable for home maintenance, outdoor activities, hiking, hunting, camping, map reading, night fishing, night flying, caving, sailing, etc

3 modes to choose from (low, medium and strong power output):

Overheat self-protection function

When temperature on the torch handle reaches 45°C, torch will automatically charge the power down to 45W, follow by LED flashing in red.
When temperature on the torch handle reaches 48°C, torch will automatically turn itself off to prevent overheat, follow by LED flashing in red constantly in 20 seconds, during the 20 seconds the torch will not be turned on, which to prevent from user to switch it on again right after the torch turn itself off.

 

Perfect double low-voltage function

Build in dedicated Li-ion battery protective plate and SCM identifying low voltage circuit When battery voltage less than 9V, push switch button only red led flicker, Ballast will automatically stop working, but the three LED lights will be able to work for 22 hours. The torch will be back to normal after the battery has been charged.

 

Low-voltage notice function to remind user to charge the battery

When battery capacity drops below 20%, the torch will only be switched between the two lowers gears.

 

LOW current start feature:

Effectively reduce the impact to battery and ballast when turn on, to allow voltage to increase gradually, which helps in protecting battery and ballast.
