Dibutyltin dilaurate usage

Uses As heat stabilizers for polyvinyl chloride, curing agents for silicone rubber, catalysts for polyurethane foams, etc.

Use as plastic stabilizer, rubber curing agent

Uses As a polyvinyl chloride heat stabilizer, it is the earliest type of organic tin stabilizer. The heat resistance is not as good as butyl tin maleate, but it is excellent in lubricity, weather resistance and transparency, and plasticizers. Good compatibility, no blooming, no sulfidation, no adverse effects on heat sealability and printability. Because it is liquid at room temperature, it has better dispersion in plastic than solid stabilizer. The product is mainly used for soft transparent products or semi-soft products, the general amount of 1-2%. In combination with metal soaps or epoxy compounds such as cadmium stearate and barium stearate. In hard products, the product can be used as a lubricant and used together with organotin maleate or organo mercaptan tin to improve the fluidity of the resin material. Compared with other organic tins, the initial coloration of the product is relatively large and can cause discoloration. The product can also be used as a catalyst in the synthesis of polyurethane materials, silicone rubber curing agent. In order to improve the thermal stability of the product, transparency, compatibility with the resin, and improve its impact strength when used in hard products, etc., has now developed a number of modified varieties. In general, fatty acids such as lauric acid are added to pure products, and epoxy esters or other metal soap stabilizers are also added to some of them. The product is toxic. The oral LD50 of rats was 175 mg/kg.
