Electric rice cooker heater thermal cutoff thermal fuse/Littlefuse
A thermal fuse (or thermal cut-off or “tco”) is a one-shot, non-resettable, temperature-sensitive device that provides ultimate temperature protection in small appliances and electronic circuits. Thermal fuses cannot be reset or repaired, they have to be replaced once the original fault that caused them to open has been rectified.
TF (Rated Functioning Temperature)
The temperature of the thermal cutoff which causes it to change its state of conductivity with a detecion current up to 10 mA as the only load. Under the IEC standards the tolerance is +0℃, -10℃.
TH (Holding Temperature)
The maximum temperature of the thermal cutoff at which it will not change its state of conductivity for 168 hours while conducting its rated voltage. It is called Th for short and called Tc by IEC/VDE.
TM (Maximum Temperature Limit)
The temperature of the thermal cutoff, up to which the mechanical and electrical properties of the thermal cutoff, having changed its state of conductivity, will not be impaired for 10 minutes.
Operating principle of RYD thermal fuse
RYD thermal fuse is made up of star contact, spring and thermal pellet
In the picture, we can see that current is started from the left down-lead on the right. When the external temperature reaches operating temperature, the thermal pellet would be melted, which would cause the spring loose, and then separate the connection between star contact and the left down-lead. Thus, the current would be totally cut.
Trait
The products have the ability to cut circuit immediately for high current, with non-resettable. The thermal fuse has low internal resistance itself, small size that easy to install. The products are sensitive to external temperature and the operating temperature has high accuracy and stability.
