Usage&Application
Anti-riot agent
Ferrocene and its derivatives are anti-shock agents in gasoline, which are much safer than the tetraethyl lead that has been used. Halfords in the UK can be purchased with ferrocene-containing gasoline additives, which are especially suitable for vehicles previously designed for tetraethyl lead anti-shock agents.
Rubber curing agent
The property of ferrocene which is easily sublimed can be used to deposit a specific fullerene or carbon nanotube.
Gasoline
Iron decomposed by ferrocene is deposited on the surface of the spark plug, enhancing its thermal conductivity. The addition of ferrocene can also reduce the soot emitted by diesel vehicles.
