Properties

 

Yellow or red flakes, strong moisture absorption, soluble in water, and water solution is strongly alkaline reaction. Sodium sulphide will cause burns when is touched with the skin and hair.  

Sodium thiosulfate, sodium sulfite, sodium sulphide and sodium polysulfide, because sodium thiosulfate’s generating speed is faster, its major product is sodium thiosulfate. Sodium sulphide is deliquesced in the air and carbonated so that it is metamorphic, and constantly release hydrogen sulfide gas. The industrial sodium sulphide includes impurities, so its color is red.

(3) in textile industry as a bleaching, as a desulfurizing and as a dechlorinating agent,

(5) sodium sulphide is used in water treatment as an oxygen scavenger agent.

(6) in the photographic industry to protect developer solutions from oxidation.

(7) It is used in the production of rubber chemicals and other chemical compounds.

(8)  It is use in other applications include ore flotation, oil recovery, food preservative,making dyes, and detergent.

(9) used in mining industry as inhibitor , curing agent , removing agent.

Transport storage
