Principle:

Using the principle that light can be seen on nick after transmit through soft tissue of throat,  to observe and guide the tracheal tube into the trachea, which provided a visual indicator for intubation under blind exploration.

 

How to use this red light stylet:

1. Check the stylet (like light brightness)and then insert the stylet into the tube.Note: the tip of stylet should behind the tube tip 0.5~1cm 

 2. Doctor bend the front end stylet 5~7cm in the shape of "J" according to actual condition of the patient

 3. Hold the stylet put the tip into mouth, you will find the initial dot on the out of mouth. 

Rotating the light bar, the goal is to make the light on the tip of the stylet appear at a level deeper than the thyroid cartilage, the gap between the trachea and the muscle, and then gently rotate counterclockwise (in this case, it is usually impossible to counterclockwise) while backing the stylet,when the resistance is removed, and the light can instantly illuminate the trachea.

 4.At this point, keep the position of the tip of the stylet slightly back and forth in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction, find the best place where the lights are brightest , then gently push the stylet forward 2-3cm over the vocal cord, and hold the tube forward along the stylet into the trachea.
