Product Description
Polylactic acid (PLA) is a new type of polyester material produced by using renewable plants as raw materials (such as corn). The raw materials are fermented by microorganisms and extracted to obtain lactic acid, which is then refined, dehydrated and oligomerized, pyrolyzed and polymerized.
Polylactic acid has the basic characteristics of general-purpose polymer materials, and can be used for most synthetic plastics. It can be widely applied to the packaging industry, textile industry, pharmaceutical industry, agricultural industry, and consumer goods market.
Polylactic acid is a safer food contact material because lactic acid, a monomer of polylactic acid, is a food additive and a biocompatible substance that can be completely absorbed by the body through metabolism. The tableware made of polylactic acid is safe and non-toxic, contains no bisphenol A, does not contain plasticizer, and can be applied to microwave ovens, and can replace traditional melamine and petroleum-based plastics.
