Concerning their structure Shungite rocks represent a natural composite - uniform distribution of finely dispersed crystalline silicate particles in an amorphous silicate matrix.

 

 

H2O crystal is included into content of clinkstone and micas.

Shungite rock has high mechanical strength, sorption, catalytic, reducing and bactericidal properties. Thanks to this set of properties, the rock is able to act as a filtering material for water purification, purify water from organic substances of oil products, organochloride, fatty substances, pesticides, iron, manganese, phosphorus, and can disinfect water. Besides there are many other ways of its application in practic of life.
