Our history


Good for you, 
good for the planet.
We’re a family. Three generations who have constantly worked, lovingly and smartly, on building a great and beautiful house of
pasta. A home with a big green garden, where the pure food of our organic Label blossom.


1947
A miller in Cittadella since 1937, grandfather Tullio Sgambaro founded the first pasta factory with his wife Maria.
1968
With their children, milling and pasta-making were joined together at Castello di Godego.
The construction of 21 silos in Puglia extended quality and control from the fields to the table
2003
The Sgambaro production chain was born. Sgambaro is the first company in Italy to grant a certificate of origin
to a packet of pasta, and to obtain the “100% Italian durum wheat” and “km zero” certifications.


2004
Sgambaro started one of the first production lines of Italian durum wheat, emmer and Kamut® from organic farming and defined its
own unique pasta-making style.
2014
As a result of its accurate analyses and careful management of the environmental impact of its business, Sgambaro is known among the most virtuous companies in Italy.
2018
Thanks to grains, 90% of which from fields near the family mill, electric cars, green energy and a series of carbon-offsetting
initiatives, with the Sgambaro Yellow Label line we’re pursuing our efforts towards the ambitious goal of a carbon-neutral
product.


Our values


A mill joining hands with
a pasta factory
We have built our mill integrating it with our pasta factory to cut transport costs between the two production sites. Deliveries
to distributors are optimised with full loads. The purchase of electric cars completes the company’s commitment to reduce CO2
emissions at all levels.

Our plants are only powered with energy from renewable sources. To further reduce emissions, we invest in the efficiency of our
machines: indeed new technologies enable us to achieve better results with less energy, without releasing hundreds of tonnes of CO2 into the environment.
Carbon-offsetting initiatives
Although in lower amounts, also our business produces CO2 emissions. To offset them and return to the environment part of the abundance it offers us, we have adopted 600 hectares of woodland in the towns of Mel, near Belluno, and Lusiana, near Vicenza, committing to take care of them. We have adhered to the Bosco Limite project and we collaborate with Blue Valley to protect the valuable ecosystem of the lagoon of the Veneto region, a project involving the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by storing it in the ground.
