What Is A Geiger Counter ?
Geiger counter is a device that can detect radioactive radiation. It works by passing radioactive elements through an inert gas
inside the machine, which ionizes the gas. The resulting ions can be easily detected relative to radioactivity itself. This is the

What is the Geiger counter Operating principle?
The Geiger counter is built-in a Geiger Muller tube.(GM tube_the tube is the sensor of the counter.(detector)
In summary then, here's what happens when a Geiger counter detects some radiation:
1. Radiation is moving about randomly outside the detector tube.
2. Some of the radiation penetrates the plastic shell, enters the GM tube
3. When radiation collides with gas molecules in the tube, it causes ionization: some of the gas molecules are turned into positive ions and electrons.
4. The positive ions are attracted to the outside of the tube.
5. The electrons are attracted to a metal wire running down the inside of the tube maintained at a high positive voltage. As the
electrons head for the wire, some of them collide with other gas molecules, splitting them into ions and more electrons.
So we get a kind of chain reaction in which even a single particle of radiation can produce avalanches of electrons in rapid succession; this process is known as a Geiger discharge. Many electrons travel down the wire making a burst of current in a circuit connected to it. The electrons make a meter needle deflect and, if a loudspeaker is connected, you can hear a loud click every time particles are detected. The number of clicks you hear gives a rough indication of how much radiation is present (the meter gives you a much more accurate idea). Before the counter can detect any more radiation, it needs to be restored to its original state through a process called quenching, which cancels out the effects of the Geiger discharge. That's achieved by having a second gas (halogen) inside the tube.
In summary then, here's what happens when a Geiger counter detects some radiation:

Functions overview
There is a large error in the data from start test to finish measurement, especially at the beginning of the measurement, which time the gamma rays are first detected. The data are averaged with the passage of measurement time.So please do not move the equipment during the measurement. After the prediction
measurement is completed, if there is no operation for more than half an hour, there will be a buzzer alarm sound and “OFF” will
be displayed on the LCD screen. At this moment, short press the power button to cancel the shutdown. If there is no operation, it
will be automatically shutdown after 5 seconds. If you want more accurate data, please take multiple measurements and use the average as your measurement.
When the radiation dose exceeds 0.5μsv/h, the instrument emits a beeping sound alarm; When the radiation dose of more than 1μ
