Laser cladding technology is a process that uses a laser beam to melt a layer of special performance materials on the surface of a selected workpiece, in order to improve its surface properties. Conparing to the traditional cladding technology, the laser cladding has the advatages as follows:
(1) The dilution rate of the cladding layer is lower and can be precisely controlled within 5%. The componnent and the perfomance of the cladding layer are maindly depending on the cladding material itself, therefore, vourious high-performace materials could be designed to modify the surface of the workpiece.
(2) The energy density of the laser beam is high, the action time is short, and the heat affected zone and thermal deformation of the substrate can be minimized.
(3) The laser cladding layer has a dense structure, fewer micro defects, high bonding strength, and better performance.
(4)The size and the postion of the laser claddding layer could be procisely controlled, thus achieving precise strengthening and repair of the surface of metal components; The specialized beam guide system was desigend for handling deep holes, inner holes, grooves, blind holes, and other areas. Adopting the wide laser beam to make the sigle laser cladding layer reach 20~30mm wide and above 300 width, and fouther improve the efficiency and the quality of the layer.
(5)Without polluting the environment , no radiation and low noise, the laser cladding was belongs to green manufacturing
processes, and the work codition was improved better.
