Sake brewed from rice which has polished to over 70% of its weight, koji (molding rice), water, and brewing alcohol. It tend to be mild with crisp flavor.

The brewing alcohol is added as a calculated production technique to achieve the desired characteristics in the drink, it makes honjozo notably drier, while the alcohol lightens the body and enhances aroma.

Perfect with Food
Honjozo is perfect with food.
It pairs particularly well with many kind of dishes, as the honjozo’s lighter features interfere less with the flavors in a given food pairing.

Honjozo usually comes at a more reasonable price point than Ginjo, providing one more reason to make it a staple with home dinners.

It can be enjoyed at a wide range of temperatures from room temperature to lukewarm and even steaming hot.
The flavor of warm sake, in particularly, can vary greatly based on its temperature.
Warm sake also goes well with a wide range of foods.
